MICHAEL NEWMAN TELLS THE story of miryam

Amidst all the gunfire, rocket explosions, noise and chaos of war, the most compelling stories are those of the people whose lives have been disrupted and changed profoundly.

During the Second Lebanon War, I met Miryam, an 11-year-old little Israeli girl, in Kiryat Shmona on the Israeli-Lebanese border.

 I brought Miryam and her mother Masha to Toronto for a week to escape the horrors of the war. It was an experience that was memorable for both our families.
